CHAPTER 5

My dad realised that the diskette Liz gave him contained nothing in it. He was frenzied all over and demanded Jasper to do something about it. The FBI had verily received the file I sent to them. They were devising a plan to bust out the entire drug ring of my dad. Meanwhile I was in school teaching the students the magic of art and music.

“Art is just like music. Everything comes from your heart and mind. Just focus and you can draw out things as like in real life. You can draw your life out if you are really focusing. Now I want you to draw anything that your heart or mind is thinking.” I elaborated.
They started drawing on the paper. I just walked around to see what they are drawing. Their drawings could pretty reflect their personality.

“You seemed to have a lot of secrets. You have to learn to open your heart and befriend with more people. Everyone needs a friend and this year is your graduation year. Life would be much cheerful for you if you have friends. Trust me, Marie.” I advised her.

“How do you figure out everything about me? I’ll try to heed your advice. It has been long since someone had really understood me. Thank you.” Marie thanked me.

“Remember whatever you do just follow your heart. Do not lock yourself in a small little world of yours.” I reminded Marie.

“Hi, Marie.” Claire introduced.

“Hi, Claire.” Marie introduced back.

Claire is the most magnificent and venerable blond girl in the school. All the guys just can’t take their eyes away from her. Claire reminded me a lot of Liz. Claire, Marie and her bunch of friends were having eloquence in the canteen.

“Claire, there a guy at the corner looking at you. You always turn the guys on. How are you and Scott?” Marie asked.

“Sometimes the guys really remind me of the song,’ oops I did it again’ by Britney Spears. There’s nothing going on between Scott and me. He’s not my type. How about you and Marcus?” Claire exclaimed.

“Well fine.” Marie answered.

“Who is that guy sitting beside a window?” Claire asked Marie.

“Oh, it’s Mr. Max McGuire. He’s my art and music teacher. Look like a guy has turned Claire on.” Marie teased Claire.

“He’s a teacher yet he looked so young. I’m not turned on. It’s just that I never see him before. He’s a lively, articulate and matured guy with inquisitive, deep and unfathomable blue eyes. All right he’s cute and good-looking. He has a pretty sensuous burro.” Claire professed.
Claire decided to take music lesson.

“Well class today we have a new student, Claire. Claire you shall sit beside Marie.” I introduced.
I could see all the guys are viewing Claire totally. I got to admit that Claire’s beauty is indescribable. Claire had totally no idea about musical instruments. Marie tried to help her but her help went in vain. After all the students left, leaving Claire and me. I walk up to her and taught her the basic patiently and she learnt.

“Why do you choose to learn music so instantaneously when you don’t even know about the basic?” I questioned Claire.

“I want to get to know this cute guy in this class. Moreover I love music but I just not talented in it.” Claire proclaimed.

“Well, interesting. Music is not about talent, it’s more about whether you listen and play them by your heart. You keeps on turning the guys up, which moron guy was not turned on by you.” I asked curiously.

“Well that’s a secret I supposed.” Claire answered with a wink.
I just gave her an amiable smile. I was about to walk out of the music room when Claire held on my hand.

“What if I say the guy is you? You just had two of the saddest eyes in the world and looked like you were suffering from a persecution. You are the moron.” Claire lamented.

“You gave me a great stupefaction. You are right about one thing that I’m sad. I love this girl and a concise but momentous relationship with her. She was taken away by the selfish angels yesterday. You reminded me of her all the times. I’m sorry if I had given you the wrong impression. You got to know one thing; I’m two years older than you are. Love is the touchstone of virtue. Love makes a wit of the fool. True love is not found, as you had hardly even known this guy. Whoever loves a guy like me is a truly fool. ” I declared.

“Age in love, loves not to have years told. Love is just a feeling you have in your heart. True love is found through your heart. I’m sorry that your love one was dead. You had made the first step to move on. Passion in your heart for someone is true love. Liz is the one you loved. I knew no one could take the place of her in your heart. Passion just started to grow in my heart as I saw you for the first time.” Claire concluded.

“How to you know her name is Liz when I didn’t even mention it?” I grizzled.

“I just know. My heart just tells me.” Claire bristled.

I was totally speechless. She had too many alike characters like Liz. Claire left the room after she had finished with hers words. Summer sun still hours from setting at fifty- five degrees latitude. School bell just rung to signal it was time to go home. I had a sudden awful wave of miss for Liz. I did not believe in destiny but I believe in making my own destiny. I scurried home and had a swift bath. Claire drove home. She walked to her balcony looking at the breeze-rippled sea. She was playing the songs of Britney Spears and Richard Marx. The sun shone more kindly now and the trees which framed the scene were golden and lovely.

A gentle breeze came up to spin white drifts of seawater over the beach. I went out to the beach so as to see the sunset. I just strolled along the soft, fine sand. Claire saw me strolling on the beach then while for me I had no idea. I lay down on the velvet and damp sand. The splendid sunset had me spellbound as i watched the sinking of the huge ball of fire amidst the splashes of warm hues of red, orange and yellow in different location. Such was the splendour and grandeur of the sunset. Now the moon had rose on the sky with myriad of glistening stars. The moon was abnormally large and it bathed the earth with its luminous glow.

Claire wished she could be Patricia and I could be Rory, the characters of the eminent love story.

How I wish Liz is here accompanying me now to share the beautiful moments now? I just got this strange feeling that history of my love one would be dead will be repeated. I started to have this intuition that Claire was Liz. I knew I should not like another girl just because she shared the same character as Liz. I loved Liz but I had feelings for Claire. Jasper was looking high and low for me. FBI had sent an undercover to my dad’s office. I walked home so slowly, when a rat dog paddled past me. I started to think of Claire and Liz at the same time. I was in a very implausible dilemma, I supposed. I reached home to have a liberal meal. I lied on the bed thinking of Claire now instead of Liz. I knew this was the wrong move again. I tried to put her out of my mind but in vain it can’t be done. At a leisurely pace, I jaunted to my dream world as usual. I was lying on the beach when Liz held me up. I was astonished to see Liz but at the other side I was elated to see her.

“Liz I’m so glad that you are here with me. I miss you a lot.” I held her tender hands as I greeted Liz.

“I miss you too, Max. I’m not around anymore and that’s the truth that you have to take. You got to let go of your sad memories and move on. Follow your heart, Max. I love you and I know how much you do too. I got to go.” Liz whispered into my ears as she faded away gradually.

This was when my alarm clock began to shrill. Claire was thinking of me then. Claire snagged her robe off the hook on back of the door and was heading for bathroom. Claire looked into the mirror deciding on how to tie her hair. I proceeded to the bathroom and take my new shaver to shave my facial hair. I had a cosy bath and changed onto my loose brown jacket over a voluminous white shirt. Claire wore a light blue spaghetti strip shirt that fit her black micro-mini skirt with her white cotton jacket tied around her waist. I walked to school and so was Claire. Coincidentally we met each other in school. We greeted each other and smiled at each other. I was pretty sure that there were lots of guys eyeing Claire’s sexy figure. She really looked great with her dressing this way; I got to admit it. I was planning to bring the students out to listen to a musical concert. I went to look for Mr. Thomson. I voiced out my plan and he permitted it. Mr. Thomson hired a bus for us. We went into the theatre to listen to the music. Claire sat beside me.

“Aren’t them great, Max? I loved it. It would be even nicer if someone play Richard Marx’s song ‘Right here waiting’.” Claire whispered into my ears.

I was totally amazed by her words, as those words were the words Liz once said before. At the point of the moment, something struck my mind. Since their graduation was in three days time. I decide to ask them to play the song ‘Graduation, friends forever’ sung by Vitamin C. Claire turned to me so close that there was a total temptation that I wanted to kiss her but l hold back.

“You are right Claire.” I finally spoke.
After the concert, I parted with my students to go separate way. Claire went out with Marie.

“Is there something going out between Max and you? You two are so complete.” Marie teased Claire.

“No, nothing is going on. I looked at Max as a boy. I wondered if he really noticed me. He took my breath away. I can’t get him of my mind and it scared me caused I never felt this way before. No one in this world knows me better than my diary do. I’m confided in my diary. Well, today as Max walked by, he smiled at me and I wondered if he knew what’s in my heart. I tried to smile but I could hardly breathe. If I tell him further how I feel, will it scared him away. One touch of his hand, now I can’t wait to see him again. He smiled and I thought my heart could fly. I got a feeling we are more than just friends. Marie tells me what I shall do. Do you think that Max and I will be more than just friends?” Claire confessed.

“Claire, if you love Max you got to make your first move. I can see that he’s so into you. His body language shows so much.” Marie encouraged Claire. I went home writing score of the song to give it to them and preparing myself to teach them. Claire scurried home to have a good bath to calm her body from the scorching summer sun. During the bath, Claire had a lot of thought going on.

She was thinking how fast she had actually grown and how many changes were going on. It was more on a physical changes and more on emotional. She knew how long she longed for Max. She had all the fantasy that she was with Max. Claire went to the beach. I decided to go to the beach to find inspiration for music. I was walking to the same spot where I actually lied down yesterday. I saw an enchanting and familiar blond girl lying on the very same spot I did yesterday. I walked up to her and was amazed to find her there.

“Hi, Max.” Claire greeted with her full, rich and extravagant voice.

“Hi, I didn’t know you will be here. This dress fits you. You looked dazzling.” I spoke with a mysterious voice as I sat on the mild and refined sand beside her.

“We are still friends, are we?” Claire asked.

“We are, or are we more than just friends.” I answered as I turned to her.

We were so close that I could even kissed her right from there. But I stopped; she just smiled back at me and turned her head back to sea. Well, she turned back again to kiss me. She was so irresistible. I kissed her so tenderly and the sensation was there for sure. I started to caress her long, glossy hair. Time flew past so quickly that night beckoned on us. We stopped kissing and I walked her home. She lived in a spacious and magnificent house. She brought me to her room. It was as well decorated as Liz’s.

“Max, I’m ready for everything. You figured out how I feel, don’t you. I have all the fantasy about you.” Claire confessed as she shed my brown jacket and unbuttoning my white shirt. I was naked from waist up, heart began to pound. Claire was hypnotised by my sleek tapes of muscles in my back and my arms, smooth skin on nape of his neck.

“We were not doing right, Claire.” I admonished as Claire caressed my body.
There was just this strong attractive force and tendency that I had to kiss her.

“Maybe you are right, Max.” Claire agreed but the strange thing was that we were still kissing in the end. Claire lied on the bed and I was on top of her kissing. I leaned over Claire’s shoulder and nuzzled her neck affectionately. Claire caught scent of my body, light sweat, smell of soap or incense. Moonlight streaming through window blinds casting shadows across my face almost like bars. Profile was sharply chiselled, with her graze. We were still focusing on our kiss. We were only seconds from sex totally as the intimacy was great. I undressed Claire slowly and we were definitely going to sex. Meanwhile Jasper had found out my whereabouts and was taking a flight to look for me.

“You are not from LA, are you?” Claire asked.

“No, I’m from New York.” I answered as I slowly dozed off caused I was real tired and not due to the physical things I did with Claire.
Jasper only knew I was in LA but had no idea where I was. Jasper was desperate to find me but not kill me. He knew I was as good as he. It’s just a matter of who was more experienced. Definitely I was not the one. The glaring sunrays woke me up promptly. Claire was in bed sleeping so wonderfully in her world of fantasy. I made a slight move to get out of the bed so as not to wake her up. I went to the bathroom to have a brisk shower. I wore back my old clothes as I was at her place whole night. I left her a note telling her I had to rush back home for some important things. I ran home as light as a feather. My notebook was beeping as I got a new mail. I opened the mail.

“Well I managed to trace out you are the one who send me the mail. I know who you are. I won’t waste my time asking you questions. Be careful, Jasper is coming to LA today. He is looking high and low for you. Look I’m sorry that Liz was dead but I need your co-operation here to nab them. You are to promise not to do anything about this without informing me. Do me this big favour. Thank you. Erase after you read it.” Ethan Hunt sent the letter to me.

I was not surprised at all that Jasper could find me. I was prepared and I was going to give him the best shot I ever done in my whole life. I got something to worry again. It is all about the school and Claire. I got to figure something out in less than five hours before Jasper came. I had a plan in my mind but it was going to be a caustic one. I put my resignation letter and the music score on Mr. Thomson table. I scurried to Claire’s mailbox and sent her a letter. It was going to break her heart. I knew she would open her mailbox every morning. I walked off to a gun shop. Claire really opened her mailbox and saw my letter.

“Claire, I’m sorry. I still find myself in love with Liz. I know I’m a jerk here. I really try everything out to be with you but I can’t. I enjoyed the moment I spent with you yesterday night. I’m real sorry but I do not have much time. Take care of yourself girl. Move on and forget about me. There are much more guys out there better than me.” I wrote.
Claire was trying to hold back her torrents of tears.

“Hi, Claire. Are you crying?” Scott greeted her at the door.

“No, there’s dirt in my eyes.” Claire lied.

“I’m looking for the 2metres shot pistols. Do you have that?” I asked the dealer.

“Well, of course I have. Are you a specialist in guns? Here’s the two and last pistols. 300 bucks for them.” Dealer asked as he handed me the pistols.

“You are only a dealer and I’m your customer. I knew much more business than you do. These two pistols only cost 240 bucks. Never mind. Here’s your money.” I reminded and left the shop.

I was pretty sure that the dealer was scared stiff. The principal received my letter and was pretty sad about it and passed to Marie. Marie was pretty surprised to hear that I had quit. She went straight to Claire.

“Claire, Max quit.” Marie told her.

“Well great. First is the letter and now he quit.” Claire bawled.

“Oh my god, don’t tell me you was in bed with him yesterday.” Marie freaked out.

“Yes,” Claire admitted as she lent Marie’s shoulder to cry on.
Scott walked past and heard everything they said. He was outraged that he didn’t get a chance to have sex with Claire and yet Max did. I was sure that my diskette was pretty safe. I decide to meet Ethan at the beach at 2pm. I was packing my bag pack again. I sent a mail out to Ethan to meet him out. I walked to the beach and sat there waiting for him. He came in 15minutes time.

“Hi, you must be Max. Nice to meet you.” Ethan introduced.

“Ethan, I asked you here to make a deal because you still own me a big favour. My favour is easy. I’m asking you to put your men to protect Greenville High School and Claire. Can you promise that?” I commanded.

“It can be done. I promise you that.” Ethan agreed.

“How are you going to assure me?” I rebuked.

“Well, we shall see and I was like you before. I can understand how you feel. You must be a pretty good killer. But you break the rules by getting too emotional.” Ethan assured me.

“I shall see,” I hollered as I turned and walked away.
Ethan drove his car away. It was my ‘luck’ to see Scott. He obviously confronted me without warning.

“You damn jerk. You spoil my plan.” Scott yelled at me and pushed me at the same time.

“Don’t come pushing me here just because you can’t even have a chance to touch her. So what if I had a thing with her. It’s over ok. You have no idea what is love and don’t come yelling at me like a gentleman. I love her yet I have to let go. I have no choice but you do have. Who is a jerk now? All you have been thinking is having sex with her, isn’t it? I know what the hell I’m doing.

You are lost in your way, Scott.” I explained with a pacific mind.

I gated away before Scott had a chance to apologise to me. The world was small, I supposed as I met Claire in the library where I wanted the golden silence to think things out. I tried to turn away but she was already towards my direction. I stopped right there to wait to hear words from her.

“Hi,” I greeted Claire.

“Hi, I thought you are leaving this town. I really can’t understand you. You are so temperamental.” Claire whispered as she was again trying to hold her tears back.

“Well, not at this moment. I still have one more thing to do. I’m sorry. The problems don’t lie on you, it’s me. Scott is a nice guy. You know what I mean.” I answered.

“Oh not again, you keep pushing me to other guys. It’s Liz, isn’t it? You are lying. Your eyes already talk to me.” Claire volleyed as she turned away.

I was totally astounded by the words she had said. It’s the hardest thing I ever did in my life. To look into her eyes and tell her I don’t love her. To show no emotion when she started to cry. To turn away and pretend I don’t love her. How I wished she could read my mind. I got to be as cruel as Doctor Zhivago as I knew there would be no happy ending. I had to put this kind of thinking aside now because I had not much time left. I left two hours and a half to see Jasper. Ethan sent a group of FBI team to the school.

“Mr Thomson, I’m agent Ethan. I believed there would be a terriost heading to this school. I’m looking for a girl Claire.” Ethan explained.
Thomson led Ethan to Claire.

“I believe you are in great danger. I’m putting myself and a team to protect you.” Ethan added.

“Protect me from who?” Claire interrupted.
Ethan just kept quiet. I was heading to the airport when my mobile phone rang. I switched on and found Jasper on the other line.

“Max, how have you been? Just past me the diskette. I’m coming.” Jasper spoke and hung up later.
This was definitely not a good sign to me. I rang up Ethan.

“I’m your saviour. This is not good. Have you sent a team? He is going to be here in hour time. You must give it your best shot like I do. I’m on my way to the airport. I love fountain and the walls there are antique and unit. Remember what I say, Ethan you are like me so you should know what I meant. Gonna go.” I hung up the phone after I finished my words.

“Wait Max, you promised not to do it alone. Damn, Max you are going to be a dead moron this time.” Ethan tried to persuade.

“What about max?” Claire interrupted.

“He was working for us by helping us but he was not an agent but a professional killer. He loves you.” Ethan explained.

“Oh my godness, you gonna put him in this risk. Bring me to him for god sake.” Claire insisted.

“Not now, I gonna do something he asked me to do.” Ethan explained.

Ethan drove Claire and her to the fountain Max was talking about and removed the tiles and took the diskette with him. He passed Claire a false diskette. Ethan sent the diskette to FBI to safe keep. Ethan then drove at great speed to the airport. I had reached the airport. I sent an email to the airport in charge to tell them to ask all the passengers to leave, as this is an emergency under the FBI name. Announcer immediately acted quickly by asking all passengers to leave. Jasper was the first passenger to alight from the plane. Th other passenger was locked in the plane. Jasper walked up feeling pretty surprised there was no one in the airport except me. He threw me a rueful smile.

“Hi Max, seem like you are pretty good and very well alive. You know what I want, and I want it now.” Jasper demanded.

“Well I’ve bad memory then. I lost things easily. You are still at ache of emptiness, aren’t you?” I snorted with a sly appraising look.
I read the scowl of impatience on Jasper’s face. Blood suddenly pumped cold in my veins. There was a pincer movement. He made a dramatic approach towards me. Ethan beat the red light a lot of time.

“Can you hurry? It was a dick of life and death.” Claire pursued Ethan.
I eased the intratec machine pistol at Jasper.

“You are still the same. Haven’t you learnt a mistake before?” Jasper gave a shriek of laughter.

“No I don’t. Dad has problem walking isn’t it? You are going down. There’s no way out.” I responded.

Jasper too was aiming his gun at me. Jasper was agitated and he was confused to the changes I had. I was ready and my mind was tranquil. He can’t run away from my shooting and I was assured of that. Sweat was rolling slowly from my hair. Jasper saw my face of maltreatment and ruthless aggression. I was apprehensive. Jasper made a big mistake by shooting first. I just pull on the trigger and the shot was fast and accurate and went through Jasper’s heart. He was determined to survive and kept shooting blindly and aimlessly. I shot him for the second time and sent him instantly to have an instant conversation with God. Jasper fell back on the solid ground with a thud with blood of his flowing profusely from his heart. It was only minutes before he hailed the last breath of air. My arms had a slight injured. I can’t feel any intense pain at all. Ethan reached the airport to see that Jasper was dead. Claire was desperate to find me. I was sitting on the chair resting. I was devastated to kill Jasper my good friend.

CHAPTER 4

We strolled to school at a leisurely pace. A lot of guys grinned up at me with blood-hate in their eyes as Liz and I went for biology lesson. We sat comfortably beside each other. While Mr. Green was teaching, I kept stealing glances at Liz. I had no idea why I got a feeling that I would lose Liz. These feelings really indeed puzzled me. In spite of my bewildered heart, I had to camouflage it with my loveable smile.

“Liz Parker, you are to come to the principal’s office contiguously now.” Mr. Cage, my principal announced.
Liz rushed out of the class without hesitation.

“Liz, I sorry that your dad is in Elizabeth’s hospital. I have heard that he was in critical condition and demanded to see you.” Mr. Cage mentioned solemnly and gravely.

Liz ran out without hesitation and took a cab to the hospital immediately. Liz did not even bothered to take the changes from the driver and ran into the hospital asking the nurse for the wardroom that her dad was in. She scurried up by the crazily slanted and ill-lighted stairwell instead of taking an elevator. She saw her vulnerable dad lying on the bed with tubes put onto him all over like a Christmas tree full of decoration. Liz was devastated to see her dad in this shape. Liz saw her dad breathing so scarcely with the help of oxygen tank. Liz held onto her dad’s wrinkled but soft hand. Her dad was awakened promptly.

“Liz, I do not have much time left. Death was beckoning me. There’s this diskette in your late mom’s favourite painting. Read the diskette and you will understand why your mom and I are facing death. Never be scared of risking; as that’s the only chance to survive. I love you honey. Follow your heart, girl.” Liz’s dad was taken away by the innocent and chaste guardian angel after he finished his last words.

Torrent of tears flowed down from Liz’s comely eyes to her cheek. She went back home with I waiting at her balcony for her. The moment she saw she went hugging me and sobbing on my broad shoulder. Her tears wet my shirt totally but that did not bother me. What was bugging on my mind was what had actually happened to her. It was not long before she calmed herself down and sat on the deckchair. I poured Liz a glass of icy water hoping that it would calm her down faster. Liz drank the glass of water slowly to soothe her dry throat.

“Max, I’m going for a bath and I need some moment of being alone.” Liz whimpered disconsolately.

I kissed Liz goodbye before I left her house. I was still dreading over her as I left her house. I reached home to see that Jasper was back home.

“So, how is your day?” Jasper asked.

“Not that good, my girl is downhearted and I am worried about her.” I confessed.

“So you have a girlfriend when I’m not around. She need time to calm down and think about things. Give her the space and support she needs from you, Max.” Jasper advised me.

“So, how’s your trip?” I asked finally.

“Alright, I supposed. By the way, is there a girl in your school called Liz Parker?” Jasper asked.

“What about her?” I prodded.

“She’s your next target ordered by your dad. I give her dad one stab that sends him to have an instant conversation with God. Her dad had held certain evidence against your dad. He was believed to have taken one of your dad’s goods, money and a very phenomenal watch that meant something to your dad. I believe that he told Liz something. You know what to do don’t you, Max?” Jasper instructed.

“Oh yes. All these killings got to stop. You didn’t give people a chance to explain before you kill didn’t you? Is death such a good scene for you? Have you people known what’s life and how vulnerable is life? Do you know what’s love and passion? You know what, Liz Parker is my girl and now I know that I was the one who caused her all the pain indirectly. I’m not gonna killed her and I swear to God whoever try to send her face to face with God instantly will be the first to be sent to have dinner with God instantly by me.” I blared.
Jasper stared at me speechlessly.

“Max, I’m sorry what had actually happened. Since that’s the case I’ll be the killer then this time.” Jasper responded.

“Well don’t presume that I’m not taking my words gravely.” With that I ran up to my room and packed my bag.

Jasper locked my door thinking that I can’t get out of the house but he was wrong. I jumped up of my window landed on the soft patch of grass. Liz was taking the diskette from the painting. She put the diskette into her notebook and clicked to open to see what was in it.

“Liz the documents you just see were the evidence to give to the FBI to bust the drug ring my company I was working. Your mom and I died due to what we know. They will be going after you now. Be careful with the diskette. My boss has a son who is a good killer and as well as a terriost named Max McGuire. Run for your life girl to another country. I love you. Ended with love dad.” Diskette read.

Liz took the diskette and packed her bag. I climbed to Liz’s balcony. Liz screamed when she saw me as if like she just saw a ghost.

“Don’t you dare to come any closer, Max I demanded. You are a goddamn jerk. How long to you intend to lie to me. Are you here for my life? Go on and take since you had already taken my parents’. I love you yet you had been cheating on me all day long.” She yelled at me grimly.

“If I have wanted to take your life, you wouldn’t have been here now talking with me as I would have killed you long time ago and would not have waited till now. I love you more dearly than anyone. I am here to protect you.
I’m sorry about your dad but that doesn’t mean I had killed him, as it was not I. I’m a jerk not in your eyes. I am a jerk that kills people’s life in the world’s eyes. I have tried to change their cold-blooded minds but it has gone in vain. Take my pistol now to proof that my love is real and I’m not a villain jerk here.” I exclaimed calmly.

Liz took my pistol and pointed at me.
“I hate you and wished to kill you in revenge with my parents but love can’t bring me to kill you and proof that my love one is here and I was lying throughout that I hate you.” Liz admitted.

I went up to Liz and held her shaky hand. I had never in my life looked at the sumptuous sad eyes of Liz. I knew sad eyes never lie, I just knew but I don’t know how. Still I knew I loved Liz as it was just from my heart. Out of the blue, we heard the loud screeching sound made by a car and in an instant I knew they should be my dad’s men. I held onto the cold hand of Liz and hinted her to run away. We had a narrow escape from the balcony. I knew time was running out fast and swiftly but I still had to think of an affluent plan to save Liz. It was the beginning of bone-chilling rainstorm. It was mixed with sleet; rain came down hard, driven sideways at times by fierce gusts of arctic wind. It was an inclement weather. I could see a fade shadow from far, I took out my pistol from my black jacket and pointed at the shadow.

“Hi, Max I know you too well. Jumping out of the windows to save Liz. You know the rules well yet you break the rules. I understand how you feel as I had already lost someone I love. This is an unflagging game and scenario we will be having. You know me well that I’ll shoot her with or without you.” Jasper bristled with a rueful smile.

I started to exchange shots of bullets with my best friend, Jasper. It was just a matter of time before the bullets would run out and I knew it yet I shot them carelessly. I saw a black and hunched-back shadow behind me. I felt my breath catch in my throat as I saw my dad with brandishing pistol getting near to Liz. I was surprised and enraged. Liz came eye with eye with the muzzle of an automatic pistol. My dad aimed point-blank at her face.

“Liz I’m giving you a chance now, where is the diskette?” my dad ordered.

“Here is the diskette,” Liz professed as she passed my dad the diskette.

The gun jumped with a roar, like a clap of thunder to the back of Liz’s skull came off.

“You lied, dad. You lied, you lied. She gave the diskette to you yet you shot her.” I scoffed at my dad like an insane man.

I ran up to Liz without hesitation. It is direct in my path that world turned a hot sticky red rare, crystal-clear day. Jasper and dad was gone leaving behind my injured girl, Liz and me. I held her up so that she could lie on my laps. She was bleeding profusely and was in a half unconscious state.

“Liz, talk to me please. Wake up and talk to me. I begged you. I need you more than anything.” I whimpered as my tears started to become heavy and had a need to flow from my eyes to her face.

“I hear you, Max. I’m just tired and had just taken forty winks. Which moron will do such a silly thing by jumping from a window to save his girl? You sweet little guy really touches my heart. Do me a favour please, Max? Sing me a song as I miss your melodic voice box. There’s something I wanted you to have. Take this notebook with you and open the diskette. Start singing to me now, Max please.” Liz requested.

“Sometimes I just hold you, too caught up in me to see. I’m holding a fortune that heaven has given to me. I’ll try to show you each and every way I can. Now and forever I’ll be your man.
Now I can rest my worries and always be sure that I won’t be alone anymore. If I’d only know you was there all the time. Until the day the ocean doesn’t touch the wind.
Now and forever I’ll be your man.” I sung so slowly with all my emotions while I caressed her hair and she slept away so peacefully on my laps.

I knew she was having her journey to Netherlands with conversation with the angels. I carried her up to her balcony and see the sun climbed towards its zenith one last time as the rain had stopped. I walked her to the church and asked the pastor a favour to bury her there, as Liz deserved to sleep in peace in a holy place. I thanked the pastor and kissed Liz’s soft lips one last time before I went away.

I took out her notebook and put her belongings onto my haversack bag. I took a fleet flight to LA. I hailed a cab to a low-priced motel. A rat trotted lazily, lousily across the crackled and blistered cement of the street. Streets were ghostly silent. I reached the motel. I was given the room key. I walked along the dim lighted and debilitated staircase. I found my room at the corner. Room was darkened blackout curtains drawn and a pathetic oscillating fan set atop the table. Floor was crackled porcelain; walls gouged tile with thick runnels of decay near bottoms. Rust-clogged showerhead full hot, water ran tepid. I closed the door that gave a creaking sound. I switched on the notebook and opened the diskette and found out that indeed a lot of innocent people died under my dad’s hand and lastly I found a watch. It was an indeed antique silver watch. I kept the watch closed by my side. I went on net and hacked into the FBI files and transferred all the diskette information except for my information. I wanted my dad to be busted. I hid my identity well.

Boredom drove me to window. I had a tiny, pathetic glimpse of fountain. I went of my room and decided to go to the fountain. I sat there looking for cracks and finally found one. Before I did anything I scanned the surrounding carefully that no one was looking at me. I took one of the tiles and put the diskette in and put back the tiles like the original piece.

I went back to my room and looked at the book to check out if I could found any good pay job. I decided to take the job of a teacher in a high school. I went to the same old interview with the principal of the school.

“Impressive, Mr. McGuire that you can start teaching this afternoon. What are you good at Mr. McGuire?” Mr. Thomson the principal asked mildly.

“Well, glad that you are impressed by me. I’m good in literature, biology, art and music. So which subject do you want me to teach?” I mused nicely.

“How about art and music? As that’s what our school is lacked in.” Mr. Thomson requested.

“Sure with me, it’s my pleasure.” I answered.
I was being brought around the school and was given the keys of the school and the materials for teaching. I went for lunch in the cafeteria. I headed straight to the music room. I was sitting comfortably on the armchair waiting for my students.

“Hi, my name is Max McGuire. You can call me Max. As this is the first time we had met each other. We shall have no lessons today but just palaver to get to know each other. Let’s start with the guy sitting next to the window.” I introduced politely.

“Well I’m Jacob and I love music especially Back Street Boys and N’SYNC. I love to play the drums as instrument.” Jacob stated.
The introduction continued until the last girl.

“Well Max, how old are you? Do you have a girlfriend?” Jesse asked.

“Good question, I’m 18 this year and I had a late girlfriend that died yesterday. Well since all of you like Richard Marx’s songs. I shall play it to you guys. The song is ‘now and forever’. ” I announced.

I started playing the song on the piano and the sound just came out so melodiously and smoothly. They were astonished by the way I played just like him. I was so enthralled in playing the piano that I didn’t realise the principal was standing at the door. They clapped after I finished playing the song. The clapping of course includes the principal. The students left inviting the principal into the classroom.

“Well, Max it has been long that I see such a remarkable music teacher like you. Thank you.” Mr Thomson praised.

“Thank you for your compliment. It’s my honour to teach in this school.” I thanked Mr Thomson modestly.

CHAPTER 3

Just outside Liz’s bedroom, there’s a spacious highly decorated balcony. We were so engrossed into our kiss that we kissed, paced and danced from sole to sole out the bedroom to the balcony, which is actually at the rooftop. I held her that close that I could felt her heart beat with mine. I knew it had been so long that I wanted her. It was totally a romantic and momentous evening I ever had in my life. I finally broke the strong attractive kissing bond away from Liz.

“A girl with so many admirers and turned them on and on again. How can an intense blue eyes simple boy compare to those admirers of yours who had all the money to spend on you? A girl with true beauty like you should be with the real prince in real luxurious palace. Forgive me that I kissed your soft and tender lips with my unforgivable lips and held you with my rude hands. Love is in the air ever since I saw you. I just can’t help falling in love with you.” I whispered into her ears and gazed into her pair of seductive brown eyes.

“If this is true love, I’ll give up in whatever I own showing this guys how much I love him too. Flowers and expensive presents can’t buy love. Sensation and feelings bring true love to this majestic, materialistic and real world. True love can be seen with a person’s sparkling blue eyes. Love was on the wing, we had dreamt for and song was supposed to sing our future.” Liz professed with her full, rich and seductive voice and exchanged glances with my inquisitive eyes.

“I have to go now before I do something silly again.” I finally suggested.

“What will you do, Max?” Liz questioned while she was leaning casually against the impenetrable wall.

“I will do this,” I mentioned with a delicate voice as I caressed her distinguished, boning black hair that was covering her extravagant beauty.
I slowly paced forward to kiss on her soft, sweet and tender lips. I wished it would be an endless kiss between her and me forever. However just at this moment, her dad came home knocking at the makeshift door of Liz’s bedroom.

“There’s a ladder leading to the back lane of my house. See you tomorrow in school.” Liz instructed with her sensuous voice.

I did as she said and I knew I was going to miss her tonight. It was wholly going to be a lonesome night for me tonight. It was a lovely stroll back home, with the sun setting behind the mountain in a sea of liquid gold. I was not that lonely after all as the rats and plump alley cats, which were circulating garbage, to have their liberal dinner accompany me, as I was strolling home.

I reached home at around 8p.m. I went to kitchen and cooked myself a big feast of meals with spaghetti, frying eggs, pasta, salad and steak. The smell of the food was totally overwhelming and it was so mouth-watering that I could see that it already attracted a few big plump alley cats outside my kitchen in the garden. I fed them with some and ate my palatable and savoury meal.

I went for a cooling and swift bath. I changed to a blue cotton shirt and a heavy corduroy jacket and solid shoes with thick soles. I went down the flight of long and curvy staircase to my living room to sit on my yellow couch. I took the petite remote control of my television. I switch on the television trying to see if there’s any nice programmes to catch my attention as it had been donkey years that I had sat down so comfortably on my couch to watch the television programmes.

In my heart, there was only one thing in it. I kept thinking about Liz. Pieces of memories of the moment I had with Liz kept pondering into my mind. I switched off my television without hesitation and went out of my house. I ran against the strong wind like a feather and went toward the back lane that led to Liz’s balcony.

Liz was meanwhile at the balcony sitting on the deckchair writing her diary. I was already at her back lane down her balcony.

“Liz, are you there?” I whispered out loud.
Liz looked down her balcony and saw me.

“Can I come up?” I asked politely.

“Yes, be careful.” Liz gave me the permission softly.

I climbed up the ladder to her balcony.

“I thought you were home.” Liz bellowed while sitting on the couch like an elegant young lady.

“I just miss you and thinking of you all the time and hence come and sees you, Liz.” I answered her.

Liz came forward and I started to kiss her all over again but not for long. We sat on the deckchairs and looked at myriad of bright glimmering stars. I held her hand up and kiss on it like a real gentleman.

“Liz, look at the two distinguish bright stars. There’s a glorious love story behind it. In ancient time, an Irish guy, Rory Garcia fell in love with a girl, Patricia Iglesias. Patricia was a fairly dazzling and chaste angel indeed who makes a mistake in falling in love with Rory. God of Neptune found out about it and stood bull-like under hot lights with head lowered. Rory was supposed to be banished from the world but he pleaded mercy from the God to let Patricia off. Love knows no bound and this didn’t keep the lovers apart. God had never sees true love and passion from two lovers before until now and showed mercy by turning them into two effulgent stars that will never bring them apart. Two stars are the legend to keep reminding all lovers what is real love and passion of true lovers. Rory did found his true love and so do i. True passion is with me now and nothing ever keeps us apart, I promise.” I turned and looked into her pair of honest eyes.

“I want to be the star that’s always in your heart pondering. I will always be there for you, I promise.” Liz promised with an unexpected charming smile.

We spent the whole night sharing the splendid moment together admiring the incomprehensible stars. Quiet night breezes, gentle as a baby’s breadth, brushed window curtains and kissed the new bright green leaves on the trees. As the stars were slowly fading away bidding us goodbye, the sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the land and the white clouds. It was a brand new day for Liz and I and it was also a fresh start.

Commercial Break

I came across this picture in a website and i find it quite interesting. Letting your eyes to take a break from the long reading of Chapter 2 of my story. Chapter 3 will be on the way coming later in the day. =)

CHAPTER 2

At noon, I went to the baseball field and check the goods. The dealer was already there waiting for me. The drugs were packed inside the baseballs. I took one baseball and cut it opened. I taste the goods and I could feel that the goods were from Holland. While the dealer was checking the money, I took up my gun from my jacket and attach a silencer onto my gun and I raised my gun at the dealer and shot him trice. It was bloody and ferocity sight. I buried him in the baseball field. I drove back home to my dad’s office.

“So you are back. Let me see the goods.” My dad demanded.

“Dad, here’s the goods and I gonna be going as I got to go and study for my test.” I bellowed.
I turned my back and made gradual grated catwalks out that door. I went home and took a bath before I really sat down and study.

“So how’s your day today?” Jasper asked with my dog, Thor licking on my shoes.

“Doing stupid things again.” I exclaimed.

“Killing people again, go and have a rest.” Jasper instructed me.

I went to my room and study. I have an interest to look at the school magazine. I flipped through the school magazine. I happened to see a familiar face. I was in the same school and class with a girl till now but I have yet known her name. She was tall Junoesque blonde wearing bridle scent shorts which cleanly outline the delta-shaped rise of her pudenda with roughed nipples poked perkily through a silk fishnet blouselet. She was a well-stacked girl with well-fed body; a perfectly sculpted eyebrow went up a notch and has a seductive smile. She attracted a lot of guys out there and drove them crazy over her again and again. I just wish I could at least have some friends. However I know this is not possible. Who ever want to befriend a terrorist or a murderer?

I seem to be an alien in this world. As I lay on my bed thinking of the girl, I slowly fell into my world of fantasy. Amazingly in my world of fantasy, I turned back time and became a little childish boy sitting on the bench watching the children playing so happily and cheerfully under the hot, torrid majestic sun. She was the second most beautiful, wonderful girl I ever saw as no one could ever take my mom’s place of beauty. The little girl was none other than the girl who was same school throughout with me. Her beauty hangs upon the cheek of night, like a rich jewel in an Ethiopia’s ear. Her beauty is too rich for use or for earth is too dear. I just loved the way she turned and exchanged of gaze and she gave me a smile showing her double-sided dimples. She gave me a simple and deep impression in my heart. Just as I was getting into the good part as she was going to introduce herself, my ringing alarm clock woke me up from my fantasy dream. I was awakened promptly. My room exploded with daylight as makeshift front door caved in.

“Time to wake up sleepy head, as is time to go to school. I will be away for some trading today while meanwhile takes care of you.” Jasper greeted me.

I just threw back a smile agreeing to what he had just said. I took a cooling bath and went down to the dining room to have my breakfast alone as Jasper had already gone out. I carried my backpack and drove my new jeep to school. The moment I reached school, I saw her. Her hair was smooth and black swaying right to left down her shoulder. She just took my breath away again and again. I had no idea how she did but she just turned me on. She was sitting on the soft patch of green grass talking with her friends. There were lots of guys there desperately wanting to have her. I’m definitely not the type of guys. I just walked past her and went into the high school to my locker to take up the books and stationery. Her locker is just opposite mine. She just walked right into the school as I was pacing to my lesson of biology. I was usually alone in the laboratory but today I was surprised to see her in the class, as she does not take biology from beginning.

“Well, class today Liz Parker will start to join us in the lesson. Liz, you will sit next to Max. Well Max, I expect you to help Liz on this.” Mr. Green my biology teacher announced.
In my mind, I was thinking about her beautiful name. She sat right beside me and I could see lots of pairs of jealousy eyes. We were assigned to do a practical experiment about cells. As I was putting the cell on the glass and she was putting some solution into the test tube. I had problem putting the cells under the microscope to observe while she had problem mixing and observing the solutions. I asked help from Liz.

“I help you with this if you help me with this solution.” Liz smiled seductively.

“It’s alright with me.” I agreed.
We were switching our seats and bumped into each other by accident. This was when I held her that closed that I could smell the scent of her shampoo from her hair. I gazed into her eyes and she did just like what I did.

“Wow, be careful.” I reacted.

“Is everything alright here, Max?” Mr. Green interrupted.

“Yes, sure.” Liz answered.
We continued with our experiments. We were sitting very close to each other; it’s about only two centimetres from each other. We were so engrossed on our experiments, time past by so fast. Bell rang out of a sudden. I was about to leave the laboratory when someone tapped on my shoulder.

“Max, are you free later to spare time to teach me on biology.” Liz asked so sweetly.

“Sure, see you in the hall after school.” I replied.

“Ok, so see you then.” Liz agreed.
Liz strolled to her friends.

“So how’s your day?” Ally asked her.
“Pretty good, there’s this broad- shouldered guy with mischievous blue eyes and spooky-smooth voice. He was somehow cute and nice guy.” Liz answered cheekily.

“You mean Max McGuire,” Ally asked again.

“Yup, why?” Liz spoke.

“He was the rich son of Tom McGuire the businessman. He seldom talked as he was quiet maybe. I think he like you.” Ally commented excitedly.

Liz was pretty astonished to hear that as usually when she turned the guy on she would know that she will not fall for that guy but this time she had no idea. She knew Max since kids but had never talk to him until now. She always knew Max was kind of cute guy. Liz just broke into silence.

I was listening to the boring Geography lesson of Mr Deviancy. I was looking out of the window at the surrounding as if I was scanning the whole area for my enemies. I love the subjects like literature, chemistry, biology and physics. I knew her name now, the girl who I always wanted to befriend with. Liz is her name and that was so glistening and comfortably to remember. Why are people fighting over the world instead of expressing love? Love is a smoke made with fume of sighs. Love swears that she is made of truth. Age in love, loves not to have years told. I was anticipating the arrival of the bell to be rung. I was missing Liz already even though it was only minutes that we were not seeing each other. Bell finally rang; I packed my bags and walked up to the hall and wait for her.

“So sorry, that I was late. So where do we go now?” Liz apologised.

“It’s ok, I just reached here too. I knew this eminent cafeteria that had good food. It’s also quiet.” I recommended.

“Sure, let’s go there now as I’m starving.” Liz agreed.

I drove my jeep to the cafeteria with Liz. She dozed off in my jeep. She had an irresistible look even when she was sleeping soundly. She looked so sweet like the sleeping beauty in fairies tales. The only thing is that I wondered who was the prince that kissed her awake. In half an hour time, we reached the cafeteria. I was reluctant to wake her as she was sleeping so soundly and sweetly. I touched her shoulder that blessed my rude hands and whispered her name. She woke up and threw me a sweet smile. She walked out of my jeep and we went into the cafeteria.

“You were right, this were a pretty tranquil and soothing cafeteria. I love it here. There’s a piano but too bad no one is there playing Richard Marx’s song, ‘Right here waiting’.” Liz commended.

“Sure, there’s given me a minute as I got to go to the washroom.” I walked a big round to the piano after I lied.

I started to play the piano so smoothly like before as I was gifted in music, literature, arts and science. I started to play piano since I was two years old. Liz was totally astounded and entranced to find that someone was playing her favourite song on piano. At that time, a lots of people were in the cafeteria were too impressed by me. Liz walked up to the piano to see who was the one playing and were amazed to find out that the person was me.

“So do you enjoy this song I played, Miss Liz Parker? What song can I play for you next?” I spoke like a real gentleman.

“Yes I do, Mr McGuire. I think that’s all I want to hear.” Liz answered like an elegant lady.
We walked back to our tables and started to order our food. We were waiting for our food and having a palaver about ourselves.

“Hi, I’m the manager of this cafeteria. Are you the one who played the piano just now as I was now looking for someone talented like you? Can you work for me? I’ll give you a good pay.” The manager offered.

“I’m sorry about playing your piano but I’m sorry once again that I can’t work for you even though I wished to. I’m sure you can find someone more talented than me.” I rejected the offer.
The foods were ready by the time. The manager walked away with a disappointed look. Liz and I were enjoying our food. After the food, I started to teach her biology from the start. She understood everything I taught. I’m very contented that she knew what I was teaching. This was definitely going great between Liz and me. I taught her till 5p.m in the evening. We went out of the cafeteria and sat on my jeep again. I sent her back home. She just stayed one street away from where I stayed. She invited me into her room and she wanted me to be in the room to show me some photographs.

“So this is your room. It’s very well decorated. Do you remember me as a boy?” I praised.
“Thanks for your compliment but look at these photographs. This is me and you are here sitting all by yourself so quietly.” Liz thanked me.
I just smiled at her.

“Do you have any idea so many girls have a crush on you? You are having a strawberry- blond hair. Sometime I really want to touch your soft, gelled hair. Mum always tells me to wait for guys to make the first move but she was wrong. Girls in the 20th century should make the first move then. I was always wondering what you are thinking and try to get to know you. It takes us almost fours years to get to know each other. Isn’t this funny?” Liz confessed.

I could feel my pulse quicken. This was the element of surprise. I just walked right to her and kissed her, she didn’t resist me. I hoisted Liz high enough to kiss her on the tip of her nose. I kissed on her tender lips so softly as she tiptoe to hold onto me. I knew I love her more than anyone else since mom had went to heaven with the angels.

CHAPTER 1

“Max, I need you to do something. I want you to go and check on the goods that I have ordered in the baseball field that we own.” My dad instructed me.

“What time is the meeting?” I asked.

“During noon time and get rid of the ‘waste’ after you get the goods. I know you can do it as this is not the first time.” My dad answered me.

My dad is not just a simple, affluent and well-known businessman. He is a drug dealer and he was connected with the underworld. I have lived a life of luxurious but I abhorred this kind of life, as I am a complete jerk out there. I have to act as innocent as a high school boy. I am eighteen and I have to abet my dad in doing his lines. I have an abysmal job but I’m satisfied that I actually had my dad’s most efficient helper, Jasper who understand me and share the same point of view. Dad have sent him to help me. I am trained to be a good killer. I hate to see the bloody scene of any kind. In high school, I did not have a lot of close friends and I think maybe Jasper who is the same age as me, tends to understand me.

I’m a trained killer. I am a player who has to play all characters.

Art of Writing

Back in school days in Queensway Secondary School, i used to have an English teacher, Mr Mark Newton Redmayne. He is a great teacher who encourages me to write and gradually i have a passion for English. It is indeed amazing to write. It is not just writing but one has to begin in reading a lot. I am also inspired by a few authors who are really brilliant in writing and the most interesting thing is that their stories bring you to their brainwave world. I have pretty learnt quite a lot from the authors in writing and expressing themselves. Thank you so much Mr Mark and all the authors from the books i have read. Well searching for the softcopies of the following story isn't easy. I only managed to find the one which is the very initial raw piece of work which i have written. Well this is written like centuries ago, of course i am kidding but indeed it is written 7 years ago. Pardon me if you find if it is abit kiddish though. I would just like to leave a footprint of my raw work in this space for memories. As it is pretty long i shall post it chapters by chapters each day. Enjoy the ride my dear friends and strangers.

P.S of course only the time when i am free from my hectic reality life.

Construction at Work
