Been Busy
i was away from using my laptop for the past few days as i am so freaking busy with office work. Pretty tired too... Few days ago, i watched a musical play "Sweet Charity" in Union House Theatre of Melbourne University. It is a hilarious, tender award winning story of an extremely optismistic girl who believe in love even after so many times of unlucky and bad relationship. The play is quite good actually, especially for the dance choregraphy. I wonder how long they actually take to train. that. i enjoyed watching the play with Ant. Sorry Adrain i did not go for the badminton as hai i think i stood Ant up on sat and i wanna cheer and destress him by going to the play o n Sunday even though i am freaking tight ass for the month.

It is early morning once again 6am that i woke up. Ant Bro is still sleeping like a baby in his room. The early morning breeze and light is really beautiful. The light from the sun is in shimmering gold with company of cold refreshing breeze. Noone is online on m y msn contact list yet. I am writing on my blog when the familiar msn tone comes along, it from Flower and Xinying, FLower sent me a good morning message and Happy Birthday greeting and Xinying sent me a offline message but i think i have slept early yesterday. A smile a day worth a zillion.
I am doing my normal routine of checking email and received message from Facebook that i have received message from Shifu, Yoke Chye and David. Thank you for all the greetings from Asher , Ant...Trio is on heat.... faint.. i need yo get pampers for u Trio tonight.
Thank you Alison and everyone in the office for the flowers, hugs and cake..Alison thank you so much for the freestyler cd..i shall listen to it on weekend... :) Lily thank you for the lovely Cookie Monster with my favourite pilah recipe. I can;t wait to watch maid of honour the movie u gave me.
I have made Sweet Corn on one scoop of rice with Green Capsicum for my lunch today. This is my new recipe and i hope it taste as good as it smells.. Not too fattening.
I am gonna take it easy today and chill at home. i guess i am getting older and just wanna sit back home and chill. My watercrest soup is in my slow cooker brewing and by the time i get back home it would be ready.
Changed of mind last minute, decided to do something adventurous, i have decided to go to Eureka Observation Deck with Janis. It is fun. We have a lot of catch up time after the ride at the deck. It has been so long since we sit down and chat. Thank you for going with me to the deck yea. :) i really appreciate that and i think u are so funny when you get frozen on the balcony. :)
Wall E and zillion of thanks
The pleasure of watching Wall E in the cinema with our Gold Class Ticket with my Ant, Wei, Janis and Adrain didi is pretty fantastic. i would rate the movie about 4 squeaks out of 5. There is not much talking in the movie but it is easily understandable. The graphic and the render of the movie by Pixar are amazing. Nevertherless the architecture in the movie is really Utopia but it brings across one message that the earth is dying if we are not going to do anything about it .
I have had the most amazing and enjoyable dinner yesterday at New Kum Den. You may be thinking it is the food that make it so perfect that i am singing with loads of praises for it but that only play a minor part of the reason.
This period of time is often known as the crazy sleepless nights for the Architecture students, my dear good friends, Ant, Wei, KK, Anqi, Terence, Gil Gil, Leslie and Adrain are rushing for their submission and presentation. Janis, Felix and i are working currently in different architecture firm and are always busy with our life and church for both Felix and I respectively. It is really not easy for us to has dinner together yesterday at the restaurant. Thanks Ant bro and Wei for organising. i really appreciate it a lot. That is actually the best gift ever for my birthday. i still can't believe you guys booked the whole restaurant.
You may say that i am weird that i really enjoy sitting down, eating my food, looking at everyone of them at the table. i love to see the different expression they made and love to hear the different conversation they have had on each side. It is really cool.
Guys, i love the bag, earphones and dress you have got for me yea. i love them all, no worry i will walk on the road with them at the right time. :P Janis thank you for weaving the scarf for me. :) i am really touched by it even though i have not seen it yet. Jia you yea, u know what i mean.
We had drinking session as usual. I bought them cocktails which are really good. Felix, the open close game, observe on the face yea as that is the pattern of the game, how does each action relates to the open/ close. ia m giving u a lot of clue already. They will kill me if i give you more. :)

Saturday morning
Heroes season 3 on Seven is very intricating but nevertheless the graphic of the show is really good. i am going to be spoiler, Nathan is gonna be dead, he survived the shoot accident and the guy that shot him is Peter from future. There will be quite a few characters. Sylar has got Claire's power to heal but Claire lost her sense of pain but she still has her power. Ok there is more new character this time round.
I took leave from work on Fridat. i have had a pretty relaxing day and it is relatively fruitful day as i have spent it wisely. i have always wanted to take a break off from work and do something i really like.
The following is my addendum time slot for Friday.
10.30am- Driving Lesson with Steve my instructor at Vic Road.
i hate driving near the tram and i have to keep changing my lane and crossover the tram track and look out for the oncoming traffic at the other lane. i hope i won't get that on my test. i wish there would be less tram on the road which my test is going to happen.
12pm - Have a nice hot white chocolate at Lygon street and shop for Melvin's present at Make Design shop
I have get a sliding card holder for Melvin as he is currently working and has to face the clients. The shop owner is quite funny, as i am asking his opinion which color to select between the gold one and the silver one. He asked me if the guy is an asian guy or white. I told him yea he is Asian. He told me definitely go for the gold one as Asian believe gold is kinda of like the lucky number 8. He told he that there is a building near Dockland selling on the market with the image of the elevation of it is gold. There is a lot of asians buying the units of the building. The gold color is not reflected when it is built and they wanted a refund over that. i was appalled as usual.
12.45pm - Head to university to submit my intention to return form back to the University next Semester
The administrator from the Archi building is new but very redundant as he knows nothing about that. i have to explain to him everything like a broken radio.
1pm- waiting for Ant and Wei to have lunch together in Union house
They were late for 45 mintues. sometime i wondered the reason i was late was that i do not like to wait for people and i always assume that others will be late. Nah is all right, Ant is late as he is still doing his last minute thinking of the design. Weiren was late as he was trying to find his design tutor.
2.30pm- Meet Melvin near his office to pass him the present.
Happy birthday Ah Mel. Melvin and i went to the cafe near little Lonesdale Street to have our tea and chocolate respectively. The chocolate is really cool, it has the candy floss on it. we chat about our life, the shares market and our friends. He always hit me on the hard facts which i have always tried to avoid. i want to stay in my LaLa land but i know i can't. I passed him the present and he really love it. In Aussie culture, when you receive the present, of course you would thank the person first but you have to open the present in front of the person. AH mel i am going to be crude tooo your hair look like "Aunty", i know you are so going to kill me when you read my blog. Lol. I gained back to my normal weight already no longer underweight yea. stop asking me to eat so much. Ah mel your part 2 of the present will be given to u in four weeks when ya are back in the city yea.
3.30pm -Meet Asher to go cycling at Fed Square
Sorry Asher i am so late. We went seeking for the bicycle shop where Shifu has rented a bicycle to cycle. By the time we hae searched for it, we have left one hour to cycle. We cycled pretty far to almost Swan Street by the river, and it is really fun to cycle where there is great scenery and great weather. Asher reckon we have cycled for almost 10km. The experience to cycle here is different from Singapore. For people who is interested, the shop to rent the bicycle is opp the Rowing club at the river beside 6 degrees Architect office. It is about $15 per hour $20 for 2 hours and etc. It opens from 10am-5pm. We have a great time. Asher enjoy your one month holiday yea. :)
6pm - Reach home to do housework
I can;t stand it anymore, i just need to vacuum the place as is full of shit and stuff. Doug from the cunsumer department is going to come to our apartment unit to see how much our apartment worth. We have asked for a rent increase investigation. Our rent has increase from $450 per week to $560 per week. We have to clean our house to give a good impression to the guy.
8.30pm Dinner at Ma Ma Restaurant (szechuan restaurant)
It is a steamboat buffet. it is packed with a lot of chinese people. The food is really good. Cold dish too is really good. We ate for a very long time till almost 10pm. We walked to Collins and Swantson to see the beautiful wineyard brought to the city. So beautiful Ant, wei and i were saying it would be so beautiful if that is held like a wedding. We have had coffee and chocolate respectively near Starbuck. We headed to the Westin Hotel Lounge to chill for awhile afterward. It is $20 per person for people who is interested.
12pm Cinderealla time to go home
Headed home for shower and do my mask before i sleep.
That is all about yesterday. Janis went to Jean Nouvel's Talk. he is my favourite architect.
Well 9.30am on early Saturaday. Noone is online at the moment. i am going to go prepare to go for my driving lesson later and head to Footscray Market to do my grocery shopping as i am going to make Zi Bao Chicken tomorrow. Tonight i am going to watch Wall E at gold class cinema at Crowns.
Sleepless in Melbourne
I went to be bed quite early yesterday. I woke up at about 2.30am in the morning feeling so hot. It is so weird as i would have thought it is morning already as i felt that i have slept for a very long time but i did not aparently. i tried to sleep again but i keep waking up on and off. i have had like numerous dreams which i can't even remember. i only manage to catch my sleep when my alarm clock starts ringing, bugger....
The dogs were so active in the wee early morning. i am having cereals from Sanitarium which contains macademia nuts, oat, honey and wheat. I am eating it with my ususal nashie pears.
Feeling quite tired as my brain did not have a good rest. bugger.... ok gonna go...Tonight there is heroes season 3 fasttrack from US on channel Seven 8.30pm.
bed time
My colleague, Allison gave me the Nandos voucher today. Ant, Wei and i have had our dinner there and it is so freaking full. I head off to Mackers at Swanston to buy a medium cup of coke zero but i think i prefer diet coke. it has been a long time since i have had soft drink. i often have tea, wine chocolate, water or juice.
I am online now checking on the temperature tomorrow in order to know what i am going to wear tomorrow. Probably i will wear a dress. perfect is 21 degrees but the lowest is 7 degrees. it is windy. all right which means legging and scarf.
My good friend told me that she chatted with her ex and all of them are doing great. She began to think of her current bf on whether has he thought of the future yet. She is still dwelling with some of the past issue with her ex. sometime in life, you have to let go of the past issue to be happy. i believe for the ex part : as long as they are happy and doing good, you would be happy too as after all you have shared happy moments with the ex. I told her that she should be more independent and at the same time be the happy and positive thinking good friend of mine and not be someone who has penny of her thoughts worrying and anger. I believe our life should be lived happily and let everything flow by nature. i believe God has set a path for each individual of us. It is because of our stubbornness, playfulness, willfulness and blindness at time that lead us off track.
i am going to drink my ginseng tea before i sleep. i am very tired. eyes can hardly open now.... bugger.. good night....
Morning Dog Call
Everybody has morning call from friend but i have dog call from my dearest dogs, Trio and Yume. I set my alarm clock at 6am and they woke up the same time too but today i am rather tired as i slept at 10.55pm yesterday instead of 9.30pm yesterday. Well well well that is because my fav tv show, NCIS is showing on tv. Sorry got a little bit of side track, i am saying that my dogs bark to wake me up from the living room but think they have failed as i woke up at 6.45pm instead. it is so freaking cold in the morning . it is very hard to wake up when you are lying on the bed under a nice warm blanket. They fell asleep again, i think after they barked for awhile. I woke them up instead, to ask them to go to the toilet with me while i do my usualy morning routine and they pee and shit. The smell of the shit is so overpowering until i have to spray the air freshener to saturate the bathroom with my air freshener.
After my shower, i get myself dressed and style and hair and i ask my dogs for opinion on my hair if it is all right, and they look at me for awhile and nod their heads which is amazing to me... Am i dreaming? Ant, wei and Janis think i am.... sleep walking. it is so real i am positive i am not but am i?

My vinyl collection as promised
Good morning to all my dear friends, i am too tired from the Singapore Day. I am tanned now and got sunburnt on my face. Silly Terence, i can;t believe you post such a unglammourous photo of Ant and i eating chilli crab so messy...argh...Hmm never mind. can' be bother recently. I can;t wake up yesterday morning. This morning i have woke up early to check on the apartments on lease now while Ant has woke up to go to gym. i have no time to listen my vinyl this weekend. I do have the Phantom of the opera too but didi not take photos of it. SHifu the 'Andrew Sister" is really nice i played it all the time. I would get more vinyls as time goes by when i see the one i want or even when i go back to Singpaore. I prefer to Play Nat Cole and Frank Sinatra most of the time as they are jazz and it really make you feel relaxed at home.
Congratuation to my client who change the design brief again, well this client is unique as they can sketch in a very crude way over my drawing and design. My boss and i have to sit down in the office to resolve all the changes and the problems i have faced with the brick dimension which i really do not appreciate that at all. i treat that as a challenge to myself. Well i have had enough of my crazy incontentment of the Government Project. Sometime i have no idea what i want exactly too, when i am given the chance to do Dubai i am like argh crazy client , so ironic ... i am going to go with a flow and take leave on Friday and go cycling probably with Asher since he is free too.
I have booked the test for my driving for both the Hazard perception test and driving on the road test in mid Nov and mid Dec respectively. The timing for the driving on the road is pretty crazy on the wee morning at 8.40am where there is a lot of traffic. i am so gonna be dead which i can imagine for 30 mins of test will seem to be like an hour. My instructor is like ok we have to practise more. probably gonna use my lunch time to go for driving.

Singapore Day In Melbourne 08
Today the weather is perfect. The queue is extremely long which i have expected outside the Sydney Myer Music Bowl. I have never seen so many Singaporeans in Melbourne before till this event. I am really surprised apparently. I met up with Leslie, Ant, Wei, Terence, Gloria, Janis and Adrain at Sydney Myer Music Bowl to go for this "I Love Sg" convention. Ant and Wei were as usual always late but this time round i am partly the reason why they were late as i left the e ticket to this convention at home and they have to help me to print it from their place. We queued for almost 20 minutes to be able to get into the place. First stop we were approached by representatives from URA to tell us more about the opportunities to get back to Singapore to work with them. Maybe we do have the faces of the architects. We headed off to collect our goodies bags which is shown above. I will reveal in the following blogs of the contents in the goodie bags which remind me of my childhood. There is road street post showing 'City Hall', 'Fort canning', 'Rochchester Park' , 'Newton Circus' and a lot more which will lead us to the food stalls from the place. The food stalls are designed like the food court.'Fort Canning'- Sydney Myer Music Bowl is the place where the concert from Singapore music and drama school, PCK cast, Tay Peng Hui, Daphane Khoo performed today. You be appalled that there were Singaporeans from Sydney actually flew to Melbourne for this convention as Wei overheard the conversation of the strangers beside us.
There were Bak Ku Teh, Ice Kachang, Chendol, Bak Chor Mee, Lasi Lemak, Claypot Rice, Chicken wings, satay, Chilli crab, Laksa, Mee Soto, mee Siam, Kaya toast, chicken rice, chicken bryani, char kuey tiao, hokkien mee, Mixed Curry chicken rice and spaghetti. Oh i almost missed out Army ration food. Hee Hee.. I have no idea when spaghetti has become part of Singapore culture food. That is kinda of weird. I tried bak chor mee first, slightly different from what i ususally have but the meatball is nice and it does not has the weird porky smell whichi have had in other cafes. i really adhor the smell , seriousily the meat over in melbourne almost turned me to become vegetarain soon. The mushroom of the bak chor mee is nice and yum but slightly different from the usual one which i have had. The ice kachang and chendol are good. i really miss ice kachang a lot indeed. It is my fav dessert back in singapore. we had chilli crabs and that was the most unglamourous moment. it was really messy eating that. I think my white jacket must be hungry too and had some of the chilli crab sauce. We queued fo the mee soto and laksa stall afterward. Yum, mee soto something i missed too but they did not flew in the black chilli sauce that came with the food. It was kind of fun as the stall holders actually spoke to us in mandrain, "Ah girl ah, are you from Singapore? Eat more, and etc". it is kinda of funny and nice feeling. It has been so long since i heard people actually speaking singlish and mandrain over here. . We went to lay the picnic mat and rest for ahwile to see the concert. We had claypot rice after awhile followed by we went to the different booth of the Ura, HDB and MINDEF to see the updates and glimpse of the future singapore.
I had like a little shock here and there as it has been a long time since i have gone back to Singapore. Well i really feel good that there is this event here to update me. We had hokkien mee which served us with a big prawn but the noodle was not the noodle from singapore unfortunately.Nevertheless, it was still enjoyable. i had chicken rice without the chicken because i hate white chicken , i gave all my white chicken to wei and ant. hehe i am contented with just the rice. we had a lot of food today in small amount. My poor legs are aching so badly now as we have been walking and queueing for food. i have forgotten to mention that the food are all free. All of us got sunburnt. i do not get sunburnt but i do turn darker. THis is the sacrifice we have to make. I am really thankful to the hawker centre chefs who are here to cook for us today. i know they must be very tired.
we watch the PCK cast performing on stage live in Melbourne which is really bringing me back home instantly for that moment. the ministers are here too to give the speech. This event is held in NY last year and this year it is held over in Melbourne. There is a lucky draw and the first price is the ticket back to Singapore.
i have never felt so happy and contented which i have had before today. It is really ashamed that there are some singaporeans who leave their litter all over the park which makes our reputation looks like nothing on earth. Well, that is just the minority. More photos of the events will be posted later when Ant has passed me the photos as this time round i did not bring my camera as i just want to enjoy the food and concert.
1am in the morning
It is about time to sleep. Waiting for my hair to dry before i get into my cozy bed. My 'Frank Sinatra' vinyl has just finished playing on my vinyl player. I have been collecting "antique" ever since i stepped foot onto Melbourne. I will update the photos next time of my collection. I think Ant would say "La... ney where are u going to put this old junk again, it is time to do spring clean we have to throw what we have to throw but u keep keeping eveything. we are running out of space, yar ra etc etc... ". maybe he would say that but i have totally no idea.
I had my fav. calamari and cesar salad at La PorCetta just now. It has been such a long time since i have been there. The interior layout changes a lot. It is a pretty nice place to eat. Sometime i do think it resemble Sofia as if they are owned by some big mafia and they are trying to serve an enormous portion of food to us which is so dirt cheap and worthwhile. Maybe they trying to launder the mafia money. Just kidding of course, full of imagination as always.
Office work today is hectic today, rushing like crazy. Builder seems to like popping by the office by giving a last minute phone call with a lazy aussie accent, they are lazy in pronouncing the word clearly which i really adhorred it. Nevertheless it is weekend again.
Daylight saving is coming again on Sunday which mean i am going to lose one hour of sleep.. My poor darling beauty sleep... ok i am going to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......good night everyone and have a nice weekend ahead....

Almost packing my bag to head off to work now. The sky seems a bit grey today but with thin lines of shimmering golden sunray shining thru. today weather would be just nice for spring. It is about 16 degrees now but it will be going all the way up to 23 degrees today. i have just done my reseach on my dog's deworming product and probably i will get that for Trio. It is about 60 bucks which is really nice. I really love going to the SOuth Melbourne market at time when everyone is so nice and you can see dogs everywhere with their owners. it is very pet friendly. Victoria market has that too but it has become too commercialize for me right now.
i was rushing on my presentation and i realize the drawing i sent is missing on some stuff which is critical to client's requirement yesterday. crap i hate it when there is some unstoppable broken radio keep looking over my shoulder and keep asking, "laney, how's it going?" , i am happy to make changes but they just simply have no idea the changes lead to a lot of other changes and it takes time. It is almost incredible that the client or whoever has a poorer memory than me. it is so amazing that sometime u just feel like laughing the whole day when you just have been given the order to change. I hate the feeling when i am rushing and i realize because of my rush i missed out on some stuff and my checking is so vague. Nah think i gonna trained myself with a imaginary earplug that is stuck to my ears and focus what i was doing.
Gonna go . Well tonight i am trying new recipe soup, yam soup with sweet corn. Hope is good. i have prepared all the ingredients in my slow cooker and it would be ready soon later in the evening when i got back home. Time to go to catch my tram.
