CHAPTER 9
Roy left after saying those words to his dad. He just walked up and down the streets hoping to see a familiar face but there’s no one he knows. He was trying to find somewhere to go. This is real torture and pain to Roy. Christmas makes it even worst as it is coming. He would not like to spend it with just his family alone but with someone special. Estelle in the other end was missing Roy so badly. She knew that she had fooled a lot of guys’ feeling. She had never known that she would fell in love with a guy so true and real this time. All she wanted to do now is to see and talk to Roy right now. Loving a guy is tough to everyone but to this couple they have already gone very far. It seems like a crush but it’s not. Roy went past a magical shop and it attracted Roy to go in and take a look. He was fascinated by the book ands stuffs in there.
“You seemed to be troubled, sir. Can I help you?” a young but soft voice spoke.
Roy looked up and saw a young, slim, beautiful and tall girl. She had a long, smooth-blond hair and a pair of oceanic blue eyes. Roy just stood there so stunned glancing at the girl.
“Hi, I’m Jessica. Feel free to browse around my shop.” Jessica offered.
“Oh hi, I’m Roy and how to you know I felt troubled.” Roy finally responded.
“It’s easy as a your expression from your face tells me everything. Please take a seat over there, you know when everyone is still a boy or a girl, they have a dream. I have one too but you must promise not to laugh, I once dream that there was this cute quiet guy who just sat in my class looking at me just like the way you do just now. I have always wish this guy would come to me one day and say I love you. I know it sound more than a little crazy but it’s true and I still dream till it today. Your expression told me that you have a conflict with your girlfriend. You think that this shop contains of things that will bring you back your happy childhood memories. I opened this shop to make my childhood a memorable one.” Jessica surmised.
“You are indeed great and you never guess that I have the same dream as you. You wondered when you could really dream the guy into life. I’m the guy in real life that was in your class always looking at you smiling and even have you as my dance partner in college. I did not dare to look at you in one of our date when we were having a candlelight dinner. During one instance, I drew you secretly but however you found out and take the sketch away. However I did not have a chance to tell you how I feel before you left the plane to France with your family and we lose contact ever after.” Roy mentioned so softly and clearly.
“ Roy Scott, so it’s you. How have you been? I can’t believe that we had the same dream. So you are attached. I had quite a lot of boyfriends but in the end I just think they are not my types. I miss you but I had no idea how to contact you. All I do is to keep wishing.” Jessica sighed.
“I’m not attached as I just found out I was being fool. Anyway it doesn’t matter to me any more as I have you now. In my life, all I want is a feeling of going back into dream and found a girl I like and when I wake up in the morning and the girl is real. Look it’s snowing, hope you won’t leave me again on Christmas. Merry Christmas.” Roy whispered into Jessica’s ears.
Roy held Jessica into himself and hugged her. Jessica put her arms around him and both started to kiss. They went out of the shop and play with the snow just like kids. They went in later and started kissing. Jessica took off her clothes and Roy too. Roy lied on top of Jessica and started kissing. Roy caressed her breast so tenderly and they kissed so softly. Roy has sex with Jessica. The next morning, Jessica took one of the blankets to cover her as she went to the bathroom and have a bath.
“Good morning,” she greeted Roy.
Roy just woke up and kisses her and greeted her too. Jessica made breakfast and Roy had breakfast with her. Roy took her to his shop and Estelle was waiting for him, which shocked him.
“So is this a friend of your, why don’t you introduced she to me Roy?” Jessica requested.
“She is my ex- girlfriend Estelle and this is Jessica. ” Roy introduced.
“So you have a new girlfriend, great, this is damn great.” Estelle sneered and she left.
“It’s ok, let go Jessica.” Roy just snapped.
“You sure she’s alright.” Jessica asked concernedly.
Roy went out after Estelle. Roy managed to catch hold of her hand.
“ Look I’m sorry, I had no idea that I will make this choice. She was my long lost girlfriend. I had no intention to hurt you. All I can do now is apologize. Once again I like to say sorry to you again.” Roy apologized.
“I was angry that you just dump me just like this. Last time I like to play with people feelings but ever since I meet you I didn’t ever think of playing with your feelings and from my bottom of my heart I really love you. I was here to tell you how I feel. More than words I can tell you about my feelings. Since you find your love one and I think it’s time for me to go.” Estelle hugged Roy as she confessed.
“Do you really love me? I have been thinking you lately. I make love with Jessica but I felt so guilty as I am thinking of you every minute.” Roy admitted.
Roy left Estelle but he also didn’t go back to Jessica and he just called her up and told her he won’t be there.

Instead of taking the lift up, Roy climbed the stairs instead. Roy had a conversation with Ben’s dad.
“I’m afraid that I might lose the case.” Roy hinted.
“Please help my son, I love him and I love Matt too but Ben killed Matt. I don’t know why. Ben has a future and he can’t spend his life in the jail.” Ben’s dad sobbed as he urged.
“I’ll try all my best.” Roy was determined as he assured him.
Roy went into the courtroom and saw Estelle and her dad. Roy rises as the judge entered.
“Defendant, you may begin now.” The judge permitted.
“Your honor, may I call upon the witness, Ben’s psychologist?” I asked.
“ Go ahead,” the judge permitted.
“ Can you tell me about your patient, Ben?” I questioned.
“He has a lot of illusions and fantasy. He suffered from stress and concussion and here the report of his medical record.” Dr Bennett testified.
“Thank you, Dr Bennett and is it possible that Ben Killed Matt in a mistake that he had totally no idea what he’s doing?” Roy opined as he took the report to the judge.
“Yes, it’s possible.” Dr Bennett stated.
“I have no further question.” Roy proclaimed.
“ Have you cross examined the witness, Mr. Scott?” Mr. Carter snorted.
“Yes and here is the report.” Roy answered. Estelle can’t take her blue oceanic eyes away from Roy.
“Is it possible that Ben kills Matt and he know what the hell is doing? Can I say Ben murder Matt?” Mr. Carter suggested.
“Objection,” Roy interrupted.
“Sustained,” the judge said.
“Prosecutor you may start to summarize your conclusion.” The judge ordered.
“Jury, the point that you are here is to trial this cold blooded murder. If a boy of ten years old can chop of his brother’s head he is no longer consider him as a child and consider him as adult. I can’t turn my head away and say he is just a boy and so he did not commit a crime. He admitted that he wished to see Matt was dead. He can’t use the excuse that Matt bullies him and so kill Matt as this is called murder. He chopped Matt’s head which shows violent in Ben.” Estelle surmised.
Roy walked towards the jury.
“A boy who is of 10 years old has a great future in front. Just now, before the trial His dad cried so sadly in front of me and told me no matter what I must help this boy as he’s just ten. You can’t judge the boy of ten under adult law, as he is only ten. It’s unfair to Ben.
He had a concussion as his Psychologist can proof it and this cause him to have illusion and fantasy and add up to the TV show he see that was so violent doesn’t mean he’s violent. You don’t judge a person by his cover. He had totally no idea what he’s doing. He admitted that he wished to see Matt to die but He did not admit that he kill or even meant to kill Matt. He has been honest throughout the whole trial. He felt sad that Matt has died. Ben performed well in his studies and has a good attitude. He always keeps quiet when Matt bullies him and it shows only that he has no motive in killing Matt. Ben believes in justice and that’s why you are here to give him a fair verdict.” Roy summarized.
Roy did not leave the courtroom, as he wants to accompany Ben and his dad. Roy could see the bond between his client and his dad. Roy was pretty touched. Estelle has to leave to the restaurant with her dad. At 2P.M Estelle came back to see the verdict.
“Jury, have you come to verdict?” the judge asked.
“Yes, your honor!” the jury answered.
“What say you? Can the defendant please rise?” the judge asked.
Roy and Ben rise to hear the verdict.
“It is in favor of the defendant. The charge that the defendant commit a murder found the defendant not guilty.” The jury announced.
Roy hailed a sign of relief and Roy hugged Ben.
“Thank you, so much!” Ben’s dad responded.
Roy just smiles and left the courtroom.
“Finally get to have a chance to talk to you! Yes I’m engaged but I did not like him. I did not played a part with your feelings. All I know was being accused of things I never done.” Estelle mentioned.
“You know what, I really have no idea what are you doing and I don’t think it matter to me somehow now. It’s not just an explanation only. We need to cool down and think what we really want. We are complicated, isn’t it? See you the next time and have a nice day.” Roy whispered sadly.
“Fine, since you want it this way. We shall talk some other day.” Estelle agreed.
Roy couldn’t imagine that he could say that out from his mouth. Estelle found out that Roy is actually a famous lawyer’s son and he is not just a mechanic. Estelle can’t believe it and saw Roy with his dad. Roy was bringing his dad home. His dad sat on his favourite sofa the minute he reached home.
“I know that you are a mechanic and you are a good one and also a good lawyer. I’m proud of you.” Roy’s dad quoted.
“The more unbelievable thing but I have total confidence in myself and most probably is my determination. Rich can’t buy everything dad, remember what I say.” Roy snapped.

At 10A.m in the morning, Roy left for a court case.
Roy took a lift to 15th floor. Roy saw Ben and his dad and told them that he will be the lawyer as his dad was sick.
“Ben just tell the truth and stay calm as the prosecutor was very good one as his dad say so.” Roy reminded Ben.
Ben hugged his dad before he went into the court. Roy saw Estelle and her dad as prosecutor. It was a total surprise for both of them. They rise as the judge came.
“Prosecutor, you may proceed.” The judge ordered.
“ May I called upon the first witness, your honor?” Estelle requested.
“ Sure, go on.” The judge agreed.
“ Mr. Camden, can you tell me your occupation?” Estelle asked.
“ I’m a doctor.” Camden answered.
“ What can you tell me about the deceased about how he died?” she added.
“ He died due to the cause of too much loss of blood as his head was being chopped/ saw off.” Camden stated.
“Your honor, you can see that how the deceased died so tragically. We can’t say the boy who is only ten cannot be a killer.” She proclaimed.
“Objection,” Roy interrupted.
“Sustained,” the judge mused.
“I’ve no further question.” She professed.
“ Mr. Camden, right?” Roy asked.
“Yes,” Camden answered.
“Is there any struggle when the deceased’s head was cut off?” Roy asked.
“ No,” Camden surmised.
“Is it true that in 1995, 23rd of March you made a wrong assumption and caused one of the patient to be dead?” Roy questioned.
“Objection,” Estelle interrupted.
“ Your honor, this is very important as it concern whether Doctor Camden make his mistake in the testified.” Roy argued.
“ Overruled.” The judge decided.
“Did you or did you not, Mr. Camden?” Roy rebuked.
“Yes, I did” Camden stammered.
“Is it possible that you can make a mistake here again?” Roy quoted.
“I don’t know.” Camden urged.
“I’ve no further question.” Roy walked back to his seat.
“ By the way, your honor the witness has not been cross examined.” Roy retorted.
“ He is a doctor not a civilian.” Estelle argued.
“ All witness should be cross examined.” Roy rebuked.
“I agree,”the judge added.
Mr. Camden stepped down from the witness seat and Mrs. Washindon stepped up next.
“ What’s your occupation?” Estelle asked.
“Teacher,” Washindon answered.
“What do you think of the deceased and the defendant?” Estelle asked.
“Ben is a quiet and smart boy and Matt is a mischief and a bit of hostile boy. Matt often bully Ben but he justs keeps quiet. Ben had a better grade than Matt.” Washington answered.
“I’ve no further question.” Estelle exclaimed.
“Me too,” Roy answered.
“ I would like to call upon my client for his opinion.” Roy requested.
“Proceed on,” the judge permitted.
“ How did you kill Matt?” Roy asked.
“ I followed like the TV show, “Buffy the vampire slayer” and chop off the monster head.” Ben testified.
“ How did you feel after that?” Roy added.
“ I heard a cry and saw Matt’s head on the floor and blood was all over and I really do not know what had happened. I was confused. I later then know Matt was dead. I did not know why. Dad says I kill him and I was totally having no idea when and how I kill him. I love Matt even though he always bullies me. Why should I do that?” Ben was sobbing.
“ It’s ok, Ben control your feelings.” I assured him.
“Did you want Matt to be dead?” Estelle asked.
“No,” Ben answered.
“Did you wish to see him die one day?” she asked.
“Yes, people will die when they are old.” Ben answered.
“The case will continue to be trial tomorrow.” The judge said.
Roy left the court as soon as possible to the hospital and also to avoid Estelle.
“ The mechanic is good, I can’t believed it.” Mr. Carter muttered to Estelle.
Estelle did not catch Roy and she left sadly and she saw Max waiting for her and she had to avoid him by walking through the back door.
“How’s the case?” Roy’s dad asked.
“It’s fine,”Roy answered.
Roy went home and has a rest. Roy was devastated over the case he was taking and he did not have total confidence. Roy dreamed that the boy was crying in front of him. Roy woke up in sweat and he was just in time for the case. Roy got changed and set to go for the trial.

“ It’s ok, Ben control your feelings.” I assured him.
“Did you want Matt to be dead?” Estelle asked.
“No,” Ben answered.
“Did you wish to see him die one day?” she asked.
“Yes, people will die when they are old.” Ben answered.
“The case will continue to be trial tomorrow.” The judge said.
Roy left the court as soon as possible to the hospital and also to avoid Estelle.
“ The mechanic is good, I can’t believed it.” Mr. Carter muttered to Estelle.
Estelle did not catch Roy and she left sadly and she saw Max waiting for her and she had to avoid him by walking through the back door.
“How’s the case?” Roy’s dad asked.
“It’s fine,”Roy answered.
Roy went home and has a rest. Roy was devastated over the case he was taking and he did not have total confidence. Roy dreamed that the boy was crying in front of him. Roy woke up in sweat and he was just in time for the case. Roy got changed and set to go for the trial.

CHAPTER 6
Roy rushed home with his drawing tools after work to Chinatown to meet Estelle.
“Hi, sorry I was late.” Roy apologized.
“It’s ok with me but at least you did turn up.” Estelle exclaimed.
“So you what kind of posture do you want this time?" Roy asked.
“ Hmmm… let me think, how about me on the yacht!” Estelle suggested.
“Sure your request is my pleasure.” Roy reacted.
Roy drew Estelle in a few minutes.
“You are still the same, so good with drawing.” Estelle bristled.
Roy paced slowly toward Estelle and kissed her small and pink lips. They kissed so tenderly and romantically that they forgot about time. Time just slips past so fast and silently. Roy never believes that he can kiss his dream girl one-day. He was totally bowled over. Roy’s hand phone suddenly rings and this stop them from kissing as Roy went to pick up the phone and find out that Estelle was engaged to a guy, Max Robinson who was the son of a famous banker. Roy’s heart was shattered.
“Why didn’t you tell me you are engaged.” Roy uttered softly and nicely.
“Does it really matter so much?” Estelle responded.
“ Can you be frank to be so at least I know how much I do matter in your heart? Now I got the answer and please I’m not your toy and you know what actually I not just like other people. Nice to know you as friend. I gonna leave.” Roy concluded.
Roy left the yacht so solemnly. Worst of all when he reached home and heard from his message receiver that his dad was admitted to hospital. Roy rushed all his way there and saw his mom sitting in the waiting seat as his dad was still in emergency.
“Mum, dad is gonna be alright don’t worry.” Roy comforted his mom.
“I hope so as he really miss you so much and he had wanted to say sorry to you but it seems that in a suit case cause your dad to suffer heart attack. Forgive your dad can you promise me that?” My mum pleaded.
“I promise you mom.” Roy held his mom’s hand and assured her.
At this time, the surgery also was over and a Doctor Carter came out.
“It’s lucky that Mr. Scott did not suffer massive heart attack as this will killed him. All Mr. Scott need now is plenty of rest and please do not let be depressed.” Doctor Carter instructed.
Roy and his mom went to the ward room and see dad. Dad was so pale and weak in bed. Roy was so remorseful then and wished he could turn back time and this would not have happened. Finally his dad came too conscious.
“ Roy, you finally come. I’m so sorry.” His dad apologized.
“It’s ok and by the tell me about your suit case. I’ll be helping you to the case can I?” Roy requested.
“Of course, son.” His dad allowed.
“Thanks dad, see you some other time. Good bye mum and dad.” Roy bawled.
Roy went to his parents’ home so as to look at the case. Roy sat in the study room reading the case and thinking of ways to help his dad’s client, Ben Dawson. Ben committed a murder crime of chopping his brother’s head. Ben was only ten. It was indeed an interesting case. Estelle kept calling Roy’s house phone and his hand phone. However Roy was not at home and left his mobile phone at home.
