Summer Break- C2

CHAPTER 2
We went to the restaurant together and saw our friends were already making over in there.

“Shall we grab a bite elsewhere?” I suggested.

“Sure.” Kate agreed.

I ordered some sandwiches and a bottle of Champaign. I took Kate to the swimming pool out the hotel. We sat on the deckchair and ate our food. There were myriad of stars in the sky. I was thinking the words she had said about guy that knew how to play musical instruments. I didn’t tell her that I actually know how to play piano. We just sat there looking at the stars. I got this feeling of falling in love with her but I didn’t want to admit it. Kate was delighted to have spent this splendid night with me. It was a still and magnificent night indeed.

“Is it possible that someone else in other part of the world is doing the same thing like what we are doing at this very same moment.” Kate hinted.

“Could be. It is the most perfect moment I ever had.” I mentioned.

“Do you miss them? Have you ever think of making up with them? You are not as bad as you think yourself is.” Kate asked.

“I supposed you are talking about my ex- girlfriends. Well, I don’t think I want to patch things up with them. I don’t want to hurt them one more time. I have to admit that I miss them. You know the song, ‘Hard to say I’m sorry’ by Chicago. The song suits me but I just want to be friends with them only at this point of time. How about you?” I responded.

“No way, how can I ever be with someone who don’t ever love. I’m sure you know the songs, ‘Only love’ by trademark and ‘Dreaming of you’ by Selena. These two songs suit me the most. Well let’s go back to our room, it’s getting colder. This time remember no elevator. This time we will walk up by the flight of staircase.” Kate hinted.

“Sure,” I gave her an unexpected charming smile.
We strolled back to our room. I can’t believe that my pals and Kate’s pals were still making out in the room instead. I tried to pull my pals away but it seemed like the attractive force was stronger than my pulling force.

“Let’s go Kate.” I held onto Kate’s soft and smooth hand and took her out of the room.

“Where are we going?” Kate asked promptly.

“The casino, I supposed.” I answered.
I didn’t realise that I was holding on to her hand until I wanted to change some money to tokens so as to play in the casino.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t noticed that I was holding your hand.” I apologised.

“It’s ok.” Kate stated.

We went to the jackpot and played. The luck was not with me. We changed game in guessing the number and colour in the turning wheel. In this game we seemed to have quite a lot of luck. I can’t believe that other players there thought we were couples but we were not. At around 10p.m, we went to the dancing floors to dance. The dance hall was saturated with music. First the music was quite pop and rock. We had an enjoyable time dancing. Out of the blue, it turned to ballad songs that both of us liked a lot. I was very flabbergasted by it. Kate put her arms around me and I put mine around her waist. We danced elegantly and we were totally engrossed in the music. We totally didn’t notice that time passed by so fast in the dash clock. It was almost midnight. We paced back to our room and thank god our pals finally stopped kissing and were watching television programmes now.

“Where have you two been?” they chorused.

“Finally stopped kissing, we were trapped in the elevator and we went to the casino and end of story.” I answered sarcastically.

“We had better take some rest now as we are going to Malibu tomorrow.” Kate suggested.
I went to take a bath. I came out of the bathroom with only towel around my waist as I left my top naked. Everyone was sleeping so soundly and amiably. I went into the living room and switched on the hi-fi and listened to the music.

“How’s your day, Kate?” Sarah asked.

“Fine and nice. I think I’m in love with him.” Kate hinted.

“So did you two get serious?” Sarah teased Kate.

“No, we are just friends.” Kate stated.

“I can’t believe it. You two were out so long yet you two didn’t even kiss.” Sarah exclaimed.

“I enjoyed everything and time he spent with me but I still liked the dance most.” Kate mentioned.

“Oh so you two still did the hugging stuff.” Sarah teased.

“Go ahead and laughed at me.” Kate threw the pillow onto Sarah.

“Jacob, why are you still up? By the way, how’s your day?” Kelvin asked.

“Pretty genial, just friends. Don’t think wrongly.” I answered.

“You don’t like her?” Kelvin asked.

“It’s not that. I just don’ want to go so fast like a rocket. You know? I like her but I just don’t feel this is the right moment to have her.” I responded.

“I know what you are doing. Just don’t make the same mistake you did last time and get so remorseful. Get some rest. Good night.” Kelvin advised me.I went into my wonderland as I listened to the musi
